With Diwali on the way we thought why not bring in a wonderful Bollywood celebrity to start the festivities.

Today’s guest was Bollywood legend Paresh Rawal. He has starred in many movies including Sadak, Baghbaan, Hera Pheri and his latest production, one of my personal favourites, which was a huge success across the globe with Akshay Kumar…OMG!

Paresh Rawal, is not someone you would consider your “typical Bollywood hero.” He does not have the standard six-pack or heroines throwing themselves at him, however he is incredibly talented in his craft.

In fact Paresh Rawal has many titles next to his name. He is a highly reputable Indian film actor, thespian and politician known for his works notably in Bollywood and Telugu cinema. He is currently a member of the Lok Sabha in the Indian Parliament and belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). An elected member of the Indian political system something a lot of Bollywood actors and actresses do, however Paresh Rawal has proven himself to be passionate about politics, film and especially theatre.

On today’s show he talked about his new play Dear Father which is due to open at the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre in London. He openly spoke about how he found working with his wife and his experience of playing a double role on the stage.

The viewers clearly loved his roles in his collection of over 200 films and he equally enjoyed interacting with the Zee Companion callers.

He talked candidly about his family and mentioned that as a parent he was whole heartedly supporting his sons who wished to join the Bollywood film industry, however he was not by any means planning to launch them, like a lot of celebrity parents had done in the past, something which I must say really raised my level of respect for him.

It’s fair to say that as a seasoned and professional actor, he has made his mark on Bollywood, the stage and now the Indian political system. And, without a doubt after speaking to him in person there is no doubt that Paresh Rawal is here to stay.
